Was looking for a local place with Fried tacos and street tacos. The food was fresh, fast, and delicious. The staff and service were spot on. Be sure to treat yourself to the Horchata ice cream.

Taco Rico is okay! Not the best Mexican food I've ever had. The staff is very friendly. I have yet to try their ice cream. I am really looking forward to that.

Thx to Yelp, I recently check this place out while I was in Kansas City for work. They had great reviews and just my luck. I have to show up on taco Tuesday! I had the three street tacos special, which was one Carnitas one chicken and one El Pastore, though you could make your choice between about six different selections. They have both a mild and a hot salsa, and bam that hot salsa is hot!! Like smack yo momma hot. Don't mess around w it...start slow. All three tacos I had were delicious and fresh! Glad I found this place and would come back again.

Best street tacos I have had north of the river. When I entered, I noticed a sign for pazole and I almost changed my order. Yet, when I got to the order window the owner suggested I get the tacos to eat in and an order of pazole to eat later. Great idea and great food. I was there a little after 1pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was still 70% full with a mix of people. The confirmation group was 10 Hispanics enjoying each other's company and the great mix of authentic foods. Safe to say my tacos were GREAT and the "hot" salsa is truly HOT. Do not be afraid of it, but use it judiciously. Taco Rico will see me again.

So this was a last minute audible and the street tacos were really good. I'm not usually a corn tortilla guy but these were great. Food came out pretty quick and service was good. I tried the mild and hot sauce and I will warn you, a little hot sauce goes a long way. It has great flavor but will get you if you're not careful. They also have a great selection of ice cream. I didn't try any this time but definitely have it on the list to go back and have some. Definitely recommend a visit here.

Taco Rico: A Taste of Authentic Mexican Flair in Kansas City** Taco Rico stands as a beacon of authentic Mexican gastronomy amid Kansas City's dining scene, charming a dedicated following that includes my family and me. As regulars, we're continually drawn back by the menu's hearty offerings, divergent from the typical Americanized Mexican fare and brimming with genuine flavor at every turn. From the moment you step through the doors of Taco Rico, there's an air of welcoming that feels almost as warm as the fresh chips placed before you. With walls adorned in vibrant colors and a familial environment that's both homely and inviting, it's the perfect backdrop for a casual family meal. The service, orchestrated by the attentive owners, is a seamless blend of friendly smiles and expert recommendations. They foster an environment where no question goes unanswered, from inquiries about the menu to requests for food alterations to accommodate the little ones. Let's talk about the quintessential heart of Taco Rico - its food. The lengua tacos are a bold choice, tender and seasoned to perfection, a testament to the kitchen's devotion to tradition. Equally impressive are the tacos berria, where the slow-braised meat ensconced in a soft tortilla is nothing short of revelatory. The carnitas, robust and crisped to a delightful finish, remind diners of the power of simple, well-executed dishes. No visit is complete without indulging in their elotes - grilled corn slathered in creamy, spicy, and tangy goodness, a side that almost threatens to steal the show. And as for the desserts, the fresh Mexican ice cream is a requisite finale, offering a whipping of indulgence after a robust meal. Perhaps the most significant aspect of Taco Rico is the price point, which makes the restaurant a treasure for families and food lovers alike. Generous portions coupled with gentle pricing ensure that satisfaction is found not just in the meal but also in the value it represents. Taco Rico is that rare place where every meal feels like a gathering of friends and family. It's where food is not just served but shared with love and a genuine smile. As we inevitably plan our next visit, my endorsement is unwavering: for those in pursuit of true Mexican culinary authenticity, Taco Rico is a cherished gem worth frequenting Thank you Jerry

Arrived for a late lunch (2:00) and had the street tacos (three) with grilled chicken. Small, but that's a street taco, and delicious! My friend ordered the flautas with potatoes as a vegetarian option, with corn in a cup. She said the flautas lacked flavor but the corn in the cup was so tasty--I tried that and she was right! Kinda salty in my opinion, but good nonetheless. The folks taking our order and delivering our meals to the table were friendly. It was about what you'd expect for a restaurant--cozy, not too loud, bright inside and clean throughout. They had a couple big screen TVs.
